Quick Start Guide

Electronic gadgets often come with a Quick Start Guide, also known as, “If you won’t read the instruction manual, at least read this one page, you lazy bum, before you break something.”

SO... one of our riders gave us this great idea: a Quick Start Guide.  If you don’t want to read all of this lovely yet annoying web site, here’s the minimum you need to know to have fun on the ride.

When Is the Ride

Saturday August 15, 2026

How Long Is It?

There are four routes -- your choice:

30 miles • 55 miles • 70 miles • 100 miles

Note that these distances are ESTIMATES until the final routes are marked, but these numbers are close!

Where Does the Ride Start? What time?

The ride begins at the intersection of S. New Hampshire Avenue and The Boardwalk. The start line is ON The Boardwalk.

You can set your GPS for:

212 S. New Hamphire Avenue

Atlantic City, NJ

That will put you about 1/2 block away from the start line. Note that there is NO PARKING at that address -- parking info is here.  If you are parking first leave enough time to get back to the start line.

You can start any time you want between 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

WARNING: If you are doing the 30-mile route, you MUST start pedaling absolutely no later than 8:00 a.m. If you start past that time we can not guarantee that you can do the 30-mile route. You can switch to a longer ride if you wish; otherwise your day might be over.

The Route Map & Turn Sheet

We do not release the route map or turn sheet in advance.

Is the Route Marked?

Yes.  Details here.

How Do I Register?

There’s ONLY one way -- click here.

How Much Does it Cost?

$250 per person. NO FUNDRAISING REQUIRED.  Discounts for riders 30 and under. Kids 12 o under on ride day pedal for free. Yes, if you are on a tandem you both have to pay. (Don't freak out on me man -- at that price I earn about $0.03 per hour putting this adventure together!)

What Should I Bring With Me?

Helmet (MANDATORY)

Extra Money

TWO water bottles, or you will dehydrate and die.  (Have a nice day!)

Cell phone

TWO inner tubes that fit your bike (even if you don’t know how to use them, someone else will).

A small tire patch kit and a small pump

Your good sense of humor.

What Should I Leave Home?

Giant padlock

Giant ego

Questions? Problems? Unhinged ranting and raving?

Most of it really is covered on this web site -- honest! -- but do drop us a note if you get stuck. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
